ECHO is a game operated by Jubril Andu, London, United Kingdom ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can do about it.
An anonymous account. When you first open ECHO, a random account identifier is created on your device and registered with our server. It is not linked to your name, email address, phone number or any other identity. If you clear your browser data you become a new player, unless you link the new device first (below).
Device linking. To play as the same player on another device, Settings → Link another device creates a short transfer code that works once and expires after 10 minutes. Entering it on the other device signs that device in to your account. Codes are stored on our server until they expire or are used, then removed. To make this work, our sign-in system attaches an internal, machine-generated address to your account (of the form <id>@players.echo.invalid); it is not a real mailbox, nothing is ever sent to it, and it is never shown to anyone.
Your choices of look. Which background, soundtrack and ball skin you use, and which packs you own, are stored on your device. In the app-store versions, purchases are made through Apple or Google; we receive a purchase receipt to unlock the pack on your account and never see your payment details.
A username. You choose it. It is shown publicly on the leaderboards next to your results. Please do not use your real name or anything that identifies you.
Your runs. For each ranked run we store the random course seed, the sequence and timing of your taps, how long you survived, what ended the run, and when it was played. We use the tap sequence to verify results on our server and to let other players watch replays.
Technical information. Screen size and the game version, sent with each run so results can be verified; standard server logs (including IP address) kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability for a short period.
We do not collect your email, contacts, location or any payment information. The web version has no advertising and no purchases. The app-store versions offer optional cosmetic packs (bought through Apple or Google, who handle payment) and an optional rewarded advertisement that you choose to watch; nothing bought or watched affects any score.
To run the game and its leaderboards, to verify that results are genuine, to let players watch and race each other's runs, and to keep the service secure. The legal basis under UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating a fair online game; for the public username, your consent when you choose it.
Your username, your best times and your best runs' replays are public to all players. Your full run history is public by default; you can make it private in Settings at any time. Nothing else is shared. We do not sell data and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
On Supabase (database and authentication) in the London, United Kingdom region, and the game files are served by Netlify. Both act as our processors under their own terms.
Account and best results: until you delete your account. Full run data: the detailed tap logs of older runs may be removed after 30 days (your best runs are kept so their replays keep working). Transfer codes: until used or expired, at most a day. Server logs: as set by our providers, typically 30 days or less.
Delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account. This removes your username, results, history and replays permanently. Make your history private in Settings. Change your username once every 30 days in Settings. Under UK GDPR you may also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to object to processing: email andujubril8@gmail.com. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
ECHO collects no personal information beyond a chosen username and is suitable for all ages. Children should not use their real name as a username.
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the game.
